Fourth Grade Idea Lab students Dive into Architecture!
Using model magic and toothpicks, students built a Greek temple that mimics the Greeks admiration for geometry, structure and design.
Students built Roman aqueducts using K'Nex to mimic the Roman bridge design.
They also drew structural forms such as a doric, ionic, and corinthian columns, domes, buttresses, barrel vaults, and pediments and then located them on famous structures around the world.
They also researched about the Great Wall of China and answered a series of questions about its construction. Then, using recycled materials and graph paper, students created a scale model of the wall.
