KINDERGARTEN SCREENING
Kindergarten Screening Process for Gifted Services
Ladue School District
1. All students are given creativity and reasoning assessments by the gifted specialist during the first semester of kindergarten:
Creativity - Three "practice" lessons/assessments + Six scored lessons/assessments - whole group in kindergarten classrooms
Reasoning - Students are given this assessment in small groups in the gifted classroom
2. Achievement - Fastbridge Reading and Math, scores are locally normed
3. If kindergartners score high on at least 2 of 3 areas (Creativity, Reasoning, and Achievement), they go on to individual IQ testing with a district tester in the school building. Students must score a 130+ on the IQ to receive gifted intervention services.
